ALLONS-Y PYRENEES TWIN COL CHALLENGE

 

We are running a bit of a cycling challenge /competition for our guests this year to see who can complete the ALLONS-Y PYRENEES CHALLENGE in the quickest time on a bike!

We will log all times throughout the year and then at the end of the year announce the best time. We are offering a free weeks holiday for the winner!

 

The Challenge!

The clock starts ticking at the base of the climb up the Col d’Aspin from Arreau side, approx a 13k climb to the top and then the same amount in descent down into St Marie de Campan where you will turn up to start your ascent up the famous Col de Tourmalet, passing through the ski resort of La Mongie - a leg burning 18k of climbing.

The clock stops as you pass over the top of the Tourmalet with its famous giant cyclist.

The 2008 Tour de France route passes over both of these climbs on

 stages 9 and 10.

THE ASPIN ASPIRE

For those of you who like a bit of healthy competition but don't think your legs are up to the twin col challenge why not try the Aspin Aspire.

The clock starts in the same place at the base of the Col d'Aspin in Arreau. approx 13k up to the top and the same descending on the other side finishing in the village of Campan St Marie.
