The 2014 Tour de
France route has now been confirmed and it looks set to be a fantastic year
for the Haute Pyrenees with two mountain top finishes and a finish in the
The Tour 'Grande
Depart' is in Yorkshire in 2014 starting in Leeds on the 5th July and spending
another two days in the UK before heading back to France.
The riders will
arrive in the Pyrenees in the last week on the tuesday 22nd July and will stay
in the area until friday 25th before heading upto Bergerac for the final
timetrial and finishing in Paris on the 27th July.
Tuesday 22nd July
>Carcassonne - Bagneres de Bigorre. 234kms
Arriving in the Pyrenees today
the riders will climb the Col de Portet d'Aspet (1069m) and the Port de Bales
(1755m) before descending into Bagneres for the finish.
Wednesday 23rd July
>ST GAUDENS - Pla
A big day today taking in the
Col du Portillion (1292m), Col de Peyresourde (1569m), Col de Val Louron-Azet
(1580m) and with a summit finish at Pla d'Adet (1689m)
STAGE 18 Thurs
>PAU - HAUTACAM 145kms
The Cote de Benejacq and the
Cote de Loucroup warm up the legs first before tackling the mighty Col du
Tourmalet (2115m) and then finishing at the summit of Hautacam (1520m)
STAGE 19 Friday 25th July
>MAUBOURGUET - BERGERAC 208kms
A gentle ride
out to watch the start in Maubourguet today if you fancy it before the riders
head away from the area to Bergerac for the final timetrial.
If you fancy taking in the amazing
experience of the Tour de France then we are offering a special Tour package

ETAPE DU TOUR 2014.
This will be the same route
taken by Stage 18 of the Tour de France.
>PAU - HAUTACAM 145kms
A tough stage, starting
in Pau warming the legs over a couple of smaller climbs before the ascent of
the mighty Col du Tourmalet (2115m) 17.1kms at average gradient of 7.3%
and then descending down through Luz-Saint Sauveur and then up to a summit
finish at Hautacam (1520m), 13.6kms at average gradient of 7.8%.

night package from Friday 18th July -
Monday 21st July.
Included is airport
transfers from Toulouse or Lourdes airports, accommodation in one of our
properties and use of facilities, luxury buffet style breakfasts and three
course evening meals all tailored to your requirements, transport to registration
at the Etape village on the Saturday in Pau and
transport to the start and from the finish on race day.
